During the night of Ivan Kupalo you have go to the hills to ensure that the bonfire is as high as possible, each of the participants must bring with them an object to throw into the fire. The most important part of this ritual consists in purification: people dance around the fire, couples jump over the bonfire holding hands to each other; marking a prosperous future for their marriage.
