The origins of the borgo

Before taking the current name, it was called Castello dei Senari and Castello di Monte Precino. The first name was linked to the Senari family, while the latter can be linked to the word "presa" (grip) (piece of land) or to "apricus" (sunny). The current nucleus was born in the thirteenth century, but it is presumed that its foundation may be even older.

Pastoral lands, the result of medieval deforestation but already frequented in Roman times. The village was founded as a military garrison of an important area disputed between Umbrian and Marche.
