To guarantee the homogeneity of the restorations and the respect of the genius loci was written a "Manual of guidance and technical guidelines for ex- novo restoration actions" (2011). The occasion was the financing of the S. Antonio village in the 2007-2013 RDP, mis. 322 but the principles dictated are valid even beyond the limits of the project. The study is the research unit Di.Pr.A.D.I of the Politecnico di Torino and is the result of an analysis on the constructive modalities of the local pre-existences, followed by the design of hypotheses of recovery compatible the soul and the tradition of Ostana. Wood and stone are the main pillars of traditional mountain architecture. The solutions, far from any rhetoric, repropose traditional materials in the light of the most modern measures and the needs of modern living.
