Palazzo Mazzonis, seat of the Museum

The palace was an important building designed by Carlo Morello in seventeenth century who modified some previous medieval parts. Purchased by Solaro of Margherita in nineteenth century, was renovated and then sold to Mazzonis of Pralafera who transformed it in representative seat and offices of “Mazzonis Manufactory”, an important textile industry of Pinerolo. During the XX century, new restoration works were carried out until the Municipality of Turin bought it in 1980 to house, at the beginning, some offices near to the court and, then, the museum of oriental art
