Residenze Sabaude - Castello di Moncalieri

A medieval castle rebuilt over the centuries used as a barracks or royal residence, and inscribed on the UNESCO heritage list.

The ideal place for a medieval castle, on the hill in view of the Ponte on the Po. Remained for six centuries and always intended for military use, except for short periods when it was inhabited by members of the royal family. It belongs like the other Savoy residences to the UNESCO List, but is still largely occupied by military activities.
