Restoration works began in the second half of the 15th century with Jolanda from Valois. For more than two centuries they continued, until, thanks also to the commission of Vittorio Amedeo III and to the interventions of the architect Francesco Martinez, the complex reached its maximum splendor. With the Restoration, the castle was the seat of representation of Vittorio Emanuele I and there were interventions of rehabilitation and redecoration.
