The fortress of Verrua is located on a rock on the Po that dominates the Crescentino bridge. Located between Monferrato, Canavese and Vercellese, the hill of Verrua was the pivot of the defensive line of the Savoy Turin towards the plain. The fortress was the subject of important military events in 1600 and 1700, when it occupied almost the entire fortress with a stronghold famous in its time for size and strength.
